Description:
Caffeine reduces the appearance of puffy eyes while firming and tightening the skin. It is o­ne of a group of alkaloids called methylxanthines. It is a substance with a high tannin content, which constricts skin and can cause irritation if used improperly. When consumed in coffee, caffeine can be a strong diuretic. The theory is that when caffeine is applied to skin it would have the effect of "flushing away" fluid in tissues.

Caffeine is water soluble. It is soluble at 1gram in 46mL water or 1g in 5.5mL water at 80C. It be added in a aqueous solution after cooling down your emulsion. Or to a pre-made cream or lotion, dissolve it in a small amount of water, add preservative and mix it into the cream.
